Hello everyone! I’m Celyn, and I’m very pleased to announce that I am the new owner of Sarah Chalke Source – huge thanks to Jennifer for letting me take over the site! I used to help out here before, and after a recent Scrubs marathon, my love for Sarah and Elliot Reid has been rekindled!
I have lots planned for the site, starting with a new look here (there is already a new upgraded layout at the gallery) and as a welcome present, I have capped the 3rd disk from S2 of Scrubs, which includes episodes 13 – 18. I am planning on completing S2 and the other unfinished series before starting on the rest of the show, so stay tuned for lots more updates asap!
For nine years “Scrubs” has managed to keep the audience laughing with its hilarious punch lines and outrageous antics. Now, the fans can relive JD and the gang’s adventures in “The Complete Ninth and Final Season” of the ABC sitcom on DVD.
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will be releasing the show’s final season, complete with the season’s 13 episodes plus bonus features, including deleted scenes and bloopers.
Other features include “Scrubbing In,” a bonus feature that allows viewers to meet the newcomer actors, along with insights from creator Bill Lawrence and stars Zach Braff and Sarah Chalke; and “The Todd’s High Five Scrubs Trivia Challenge,” a contest led by Dr. Todd Quinlan (Robert Maschio) that challenges viewers to a test knowledge of all nine seasons.
The packaging of the DVD will be a delight to fans as well. It includes a collectible X-ray/Lenticular cover of the cast, official Sacred Heart Hospital ID badge in-pack, and photo booth strip of the cast.
In its ninth and final season, the show now focuses at a med school led by Lucy (Kerry Bishe), a med student who takes over the narrating of the show from JD. Donald Faison and John C. McGinley were the only cast members who came back as series regulars in the latest season.
Also starring were Eliza Couple, Michael Mosley, and Dave Franco.
The complete ninth and final season will be released September 28.
Is “Scrubs” finally a goner?
According to star Zach Braff, the long-running comedy is finished.
After nine seasons and two networks, Braff says the ABC series won’t return next year.
Posting on Facebook, Braff said to fans: “Many of you have asked, so here it is: It appears that ‘New Scrubs,’ ‘Scrubs 2.0,’ ‘Scrubs with new kids,’ ‘Scrubbier,’ ‘Scrubs without JD’ is no more. It was worth a try, but alas … it didn’t work. zb”
Braff, who played Dr. John “J.D.” Dorian on the medical series, starred in only a handful of episodes this season, which attempted to reboot the show by adding younger cast members.
An ABC representative said the network hasn’t made an official decision.
Given the program’s weak ratings this year, a return does seem unlikely, especially in light of ABC’s comedy success with its Wednesday block led by “Modern Family.”
From the New York Daily News
On the season premiere of Scrubs, we got a glimpse of a very pregnant Sarah Chalke portraying the mother of J.D.’s baby. She’s actually due sometime this month, following the news of fellow series star Judy Reyes recent delivery. But while 33-year-old Canadian actress is expecting a boy soon, what exactly can we expect about her character?
Sarah Chalke talked to DVR Playground about her return to the ninth season of Scrubs, discussing what’s in store for the on-screen couple. She claims she’ll be back for a few more episodes in the future, and is excited about how her story will unfold. The actress also revealed the gender J.D. and Elliot’s baby, which is definitely something to look forward to.
Possible spoilers below!
I have added 5 photos of Sarah from the first episode of season 9 of “Scrubs” where she comes back as Elliot! She looks so great and you can even see her baby bump!

The National Ledger has posted the following interview with Sarah where she discusses more about her part in “Scrubs” season 9 and how her real life pregnancy fits into it all!
Sarah Chalke has been enjoying being back in her “Scrubs” gear as Dr. Elliot Reid filming shows for the series’ Dec. 1-debuting new season “that’s centered around a med school with all these young cast members, John C. McGinley’s character (Dr. Cox), and Turk (Donald Faison). It’s been so much fun to be back and see everybody,” she says. “I’m doing around four episodes and then I’ll go have the baby. I was tired at the beginning of the pregnancy, then loaded with energy in the middle. I can feel that tired is starting to come back now.”
Chalke, who is expecting next month with her fiance, attorney Jamie Afifi, says that the show “definitely parallels real life” in terms of her pregnancy. She and Zach Braff are on hand to help launch the new version. He’s reportedly aboard for six episodes. And his character’s flash-forward at the end of last season has become true — J.D. and Elliot have married and are expecting. Chalke smilingly notes, “That flash-forward — I was obviously not pregnant at that time because we filmed it over a year ago.”
The beautiful Chalke will also be heard Dec. 1 as the voice of the elf who serves as Santa’s command center coordinator on the animated Disney special “Prep & Landing.”
“My character is a multi-tasker; she can do 10 things at once. She wears jingle-bell jewelry. And she has an obsession with scalding hot lattes — she chugs eggnog lattes in giant bowl mugs. She’s up around the clock,” describes the actress. Dave Foley also provides a star voice for the special — the first Walt Disney animation special for ABC, produced by John Lasseter.
ABC’s revamped “Scrubs” will return to the network airwaves December 1st.
Show, which will undergo an overhaul this year as the focus shifts to a med school setting, will air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. starting that night.
For its launch, “Scrubs” will also air a second original episode that night, at 9:30 p.m. Sophomore laffer “Better Off Ted” returns the following week, Dec. 8, at 9:30 p.m.
On Dec. 1, “Scrubs” 2.0 will bow behind the animated holiday special “Prep & Landing,” which will air at 8:30 that night.
“Prep & Landing,” which coincidentally features the voice of “Scrubs” vet Sarah Chalke, is the first-ever ABC special from Walt Disney Animation.
New “Scrubs” stars returnees John C. McGinley and Donald Faison as well as Eliza Coupe, Michael Mosley, Kerry Bishe and Dave Franco. Original series star Zach Braff is also set to appear in several episodes.
